For over 15 years Datanet installations services have closely worked with the Army Aviation School in Middle Wallop.

All our engineers are SC cleared as a minimum.

2 (Training) Regiment Army Air Corps (AAC) consists of two squadrons: 668 (Training) Squadron AAC and 676 Squadron AAC. These squadrons provide and manage the ground training for all AAC Phase Two trainees and Direct Entry Groundcrew officers.

7 (Trg) Regt AAC consists of three squadrons: 670 Squadron AAC, 671 Squadron AAC and 673 Squadron AAC. These squadrons provide the necessary flying training for AAC officers and non-commissioned officers.

Datanet Installation Services  UK Ltd were awarded the contract to provide a site wide Wifi system. When the new recruits arrived at the aviation school each were given an iPad that they used to store all their training documents, class information and gave a much improved communication between teacher and student. Because of this we had to ensure that every accommodation and training room had sufficient Wifi.

Due to the nature of the site and low flying aircraft, it was challenging to link buildings together using overhead catenary wires. Instead we had to use a very old pit and duct system that was first installed in the 1960s. Most of the ducts were either collapsed or full.

We knew that the customer had future plans for significant infrastructure upgrades and we discussed updating and installing new pit and duct systems.  We installed new ducts where needed. By doing this it enabled us to complete this project and gave the customer a pit and system that was ready for future projects and saved money at the same time.

Throughout the project the customer received weekly progress reports with projected timelines (examples of which can be provided on request) so that the customer could clearly see what stage Datanet were at, where we would be next and more importantly the projected end date.

Our involvement in the project gave the customer a stress free, cost effective delivery of the project.

On this particular project we delivered a site wide Wifi service that cost only a third of what they had been quoted by other major telecommunications companies and installed with the minimum of fuss.
