Category5E (CAT5E) – Class D installed as 100MHz cabling systems:

Unshielded Twisted Pair (UTP)
Foil Twisted Pair (FTP)
Shielded Twisted Pair (STP)

Cables are available as the standard PVC sheathing or Low Smoke Zero Halogen (LSZH)

Cat5E is still the most common used cabling system for Voice and Data Communications within the UK, should your requirements not exceed 100Mbps now or in the very near future, then this would be the best and most cost effective solution.

Category 6 (CAT6) – Class E installed as 250MHz cabling system:

Unshielded Twisted Pair (UTP)

Shielded Twisted Pair (STP)

Cables are available as the standard PVC sheathing or Low Smoke Zero Halogen (LSZH)

Cat6 suitable for Voice and Data Communications up to 1000Mpbs with a band width of 250MHz. Datanet have a vast experience installing Cat6 cabling systems, with many reference sites available. Although slightly more expensive than Cat5e this is a cabling system that will future proof your network for the next ten years or more.

Category 6A (CAT6A) – Class F installed as 500MHz cabling system:

Shielded Twisted Pair (STP)

Cables are available as Low Smoke Zero Halogen (LSZH)

Cat6A suitable for Voice and Data Communications 1000Mbps 10Gb Ethernet

The Cat6A system is a more costly option mainly used within the Finance and very large corporate organisations, our approved manufacturers of HellermannTyton and Panduit both have a full compliant option available for Datanet to install.
